The new PlayStation "Orbis" comes with a resolution of 4096 x 2160 in 2013


Although Nintendo is particularly revealing for the next generation console - the Wii U will be released at Christmas, almost 18 months after initial presentation - Sony and Microsoft keep silent about their future plans. This course has not stopped several rumors mention several new features for the Xbox, and yesterday Kotaku reports published for the successor of PlayStation 3, the Orbis, which will be released at Christmas 2013.

The name Orbis is a codename that may be lost before its official release - as "Orbis Vitae" (see PlayStation Vita) in Latin means "life cycle", and Sony may not be able to resist the pun. The new device features include processor AMD x64, AMD Southern Islands graphics and analysis of 4096 x 2160, which belongs to 4K. (The section of Sony home theater already experimenting with technology and material 4K)

The games will be available in either Blu-ray disc or PSN downloads, but even if you have the first category of natural media, the Orbis will lock the titles in the PSN account, so that there are used games (and Microsoft is rumored thinks that a corresponding method against hand games). Finally, the newspaper said the new PlayStation will not support games from the PlayStation 3.
